In 1997, Ph.D/Professional Engineer Hongkook Kim set up his consulting professional engineering business for the building structure first in Seoul, Korea. In the years that have followed, the business has grown into a consulting firm including construction managing, BIM and inspection and using the business principles that Basis Engineering first set out. By 2003, Basis was starting of the business in Los Angeles of Southern California, US. Its professional philosophy extended from Type I to Type V Building of structural engineering, construction management, BIM and inspection for earthquake resisting engineering, High-rise analysis and design, residential and commercial complex, massive entertainment facility, 3D building information modeling and special inspection of the buildings. Now, Basis, as a professional provider of design, engineering, modeling and management for the building and environment, will creates better environments and powerful ideas that meet the most complex challenges. We are trying to collaborate with clients and related consultants to create wonderful spaces linking people and place.
